Is this a patented solution?
A:
The H.I.P. Helmet has patents pending.
Q:
What makes this helmet different than others on the market?
A:
The H.I.P. Helmet has multiple segments and layers that are held together by flexible joints, enabling impact forces to move around the helmet and away from the head. It was designed with the existing solutions provided by nature as inspiration.
Q:
What types of impact is the H.I.P. helmet made to protect against?
A:
The H.I.P. Helmet is made to reduce the effect of impact from blast waves, shock waves, acoustic waves, and impact waves.
Q:
What is biomimicking and why was it used in the design of the H.I.P. helmet?
A:
Biomimicking comes from two words: “bio”, which means living organism and “mimic”, which means imitate. Biomimicing is the act of being inspired by solutions in nature and translating those principles to human engineering. These principles are used in the design of the H.I.P. helmet because we believe nature is the ultimate creative problem-solver. The H.I.P. Helmet was made to harness the designs of nature to help prevent Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Concussion (M-TBI), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), and other injury to the brain.
